Description: Our shampoo is different because it contains no synthetic detergents; just gentle natural soap. Our great-grandmothers used simple soaps like these before the advent of synthetic shampoos. They had hair that was clean, shiny and healthy--without all the nasty chemicals. Your order comes with one 8 oz bottle of Peppermint & Tea Tree Shampoo, one 16 oz rinsing bottle (unless otherwise indicated), full instructions and information.

Where's the conditioner? Our products are a little bit different to use; it may take some getting used to. Instead of using a detergent shampoo (that strips your hair) and conditioner (that covers up the damage the shampoo did) we use a natural soap to clean and vinegar to balance hair's pH. The cleansing is so gentle you don't need conditioner, and the vinegar makes your hair exceptionally strong. Conventional shampoos and conditioners contain synthetic proteins and plasticizers that coat the hair. They have to do this to cover up the damage that the harsh detergents in the shampoo do to your hair. Our shampoo doesn't strip the hair of its oils, only removes the excess. You'll actually go through a hair "detox" period, where the synthetic proteins will be removed and you'll be able to feel your hair for the first time without these synthetic coatings. It will become naturally soft and smooth, and, as new hair grows in, it won't suffer the damage of the conventional shampoos. Over time, your hair's appearance will grow shinier and be stronger.

The Organic Peppermint & Tea Tree Shampoo contains sweet almond oil, macadamia nut oil, and jojoba oil for added conditioning. Jojoba oil is very similar in structure to our hairs' own natural oils, so it's a great conditioning agent. Sweet almond oil has long been used on hair and skin, and helps to strengthen skin and clarify scalp. And we've added sweet-smelling macadamia nut oil for added conditioning and softness. Peppermint and spearmint essential oils stimulate scalp and tea tree essential oil has been used historically to help itchy, dry, and oily scalp, fighting dandruff-causing fungus and promoting the healthy balance of scalp. We recommend this shampoo for normal to dry hair, even though, technically, there is no such thing as dry hair. Want to know why? Check out the B&B blog article here:http://bubbleandbee.blogspot.com/2009/09/hair-care-myths-exposed.html.

Directions: Place a quarter-sized dollop of shampoo into your palm and lather into hair. If you have thick or long hair, you may want to make a horizontal part on the back of your head and apply an extra dollop of shampoo to ensure you clean your entire scalp. Lather up and rinse as usual.

Vinegar rinse instructions: Fill the provided rinse bottle to the line with vinegar (white or apple cider vinegar work great), and fill to the top with water. Pour entire contents of the bottle onto your hair. Repeat the rinse until you can run your fingers through all your hair. (A detailed information sheet will be included with your order.)

Note: This shampoo is not for everyone. It is soap-based, not detergent based, so it has the potential to form soap scum. There are many factors that come in to play with soap scum formation, including water hardness, type of hardness, and texture of hair. If your hair comes out feeling greasy with this shampoo after the detox period, it's because you're experiencing soap scum. You can work around it by mixing in baking soda with the shampoo. As much as we want to sell you shampoo, we think you should know this ahead of time, as this product is non-returnable once opened. If it doesn't work out for you as a shampoo, however, it can be used as a body or hand soap.

Not working for my long hair...

Posted by Kelly Anderson on 1st Aug 2017

The quality of this product is great, however, it just isn't practical for my long hair. I would have to use way too much making it not cost effective. The small amount I put in my hair feels and lathers great, but it just won't work in to the rest of my hair easily. This means I have to keep adding more to clean it all. That would never work. I switched from a natural shampoo bar because I wanted to be able to buy all my products in one place. Looks like I'll be going back to the bar. (Also, the rinse bottle provided didn't work for my long hair either... not a powerful enough stream to cut through my thick hair and rinse really well.) On a better note, both the shampoo and rinse bottle did fine for my husband's hair.

    Leaves Hair Oily

Posted by Unknown on 7th Oct 2016

I really was excited to use this shampoo. It lathers nicely and has a nice scent. I used the vinegar rinse as instructed and my hair feels squeaky clean; however, after drying it (without using any styling products) it feels and looks dirty- greasy. I will use it a few more times before I give up. I'm hoping it is due to the plastic residue from previous products. Even my hands have felt waxy. It's weird. REPLY: It sounds like you're experiencing some soap scum residue. Email us for some tips!

Product works well. I wasnt rinsing with water before the vinegar rinse, as the instructions didnt specify to do so, so the detox period was way longer than it needed to be. So far so good though.

This scent is intoxicating, just wonderful!

Posted by Jessica R. on 23rd Oct 2017

The scent is amazing. It's like being in a spa every time I wash my hair. The product is great. It doesn't have a lot of lather, but I just add water to distribute it throughout my hair. My water is hard, so I do feel some soap residue. If I was using soft water, I don't believe I would have any problem at all with buildup. Jros

    Good Overall

Posted by Unknown on 18th Dec 2016

I do not have much to say about the shampoo. It is working just like any other shampoo, and I have had no issues with it. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the fact that I have to do a vinegar rinse. It takes a little extra time, and adds extra cost, that I would not have to spend with a regular shampoo. It is unavoidable though and not that big of a deal, for me, overall. Reply from Bubble & Bee: Thanks for leaving your review! The vinegar rinse isn't a necessary step, it's just more healthy for your hair to leave it in an acidic state. Think of it as your conditioner. (Which you can use if you're not in to the vinegar.)

    Love it!

I have very fine, thin hair (chin length) with a cotton candy-like texture. I am amazed at how this shampoo has restored body and texture. A little goes a long way and I love the lather. We have harder, city water with a water softener. I only use about 1/4th of the vinegar solution with each wash and have no trouble using a wide tooth comb in the shower. Love eliminating chemicals where I can!

This is a great product :)

Posted by The Honest Armadillo on 17th Sep 2018

This shampoo has a super refreshing scent, and it has a very "clean" smell to it. It's not overpowering though. I like this product because it is so much more than just a shampoo- I use it as an all-purpose soap and cleaner, and often as a body wash. There is an adjustment period if you aren't used to a soap based shampoo, but the instructions and FAQ that come with the bottle are really very helpful, and honestly, the vinegar rinse can make all the difference. Overall, a wonderfully natural and fun product.

    Cleaned beautifully!

Clean and light. There was no residue left behind just clean hair. The suggested vinegar/water mix made my hair incredibly soft! Thank you for the bottle to help me with the dilution.

Love the smell and how it makes my hair feel!

Posted by Mary Kay on 22nd Mar 2018

I have psoriasis. I have been losing alot of hair. My hair had become dry and frizzy from the prescribed shampoo. I have used this product 7 times and notice a shine coming back, bouncy curls, and decreased hair loss. I am VERY impressed and already ordered another bottle. I don't miss not having lather as I know it strips your hair of good oils. I use about a quarter-sized amount on really wet hair and it works up into a nice "lather". I leave it on for awhile, rinse and then follow with the vinegar. U don't like the smell of vinegar, but I know this combo has helped immensely.

    Perfect as always!

Posted by Lovisa on 23rd Oct 2017

I finally tried Bubble and Bees shampoo after having ordered their AMAZING deodorants for years (and LOVE it). The shampoo with the vinegar rinse was definitely something else than other shampoos I have tried but after endless attempts with natural shampoos that still made my scalp itchy and dry after a few days I gave this a try. And it worked! I gave it 2 weeks as informed on the manual so that my hair could "detoxicate" but even after my first attempt my hair felt different. It was smooth and soft, not tangly (my hair is long so that was definitely nice), stayed nice for a long time and did not make my scalp itchy! The vinegar rinse is still a bit tricky sometimes though, because if I comb my fingers trough my hair as directed with the vinegar in my hair it turns out very oily from my neck and down. I even tried without the vinegar rinse once but then my hair was harder to deal with, it was puffy and very tangly. So, I found my way, which is to just poor the vinegar rinse over my hair without fuzzing anything with it, not comb my fingers through or anything. Then my hair is super silky and soft, my scalp is not itchy, my hair is easy to deal with and looks good. Yey! I am so immensely glad that Bubble and Bee excist! Thank you amazing guys who make these natural, safe, and environmentally friendly products! I will be your forever fan all the way from Norway so if you would manage to get some shops here or in Europe to sell your products for you that would be great and make things a little bit easier (and environmentally friendlier), but if not, I will still order your wonderful products! ;) Oh and ps; there is one thing I reacted to though. The shampoos came in quite small bottles that were made out of plastic. Are there maybe any other solutions for the packaging that could be made environmentally friendlier??

    best shampoo ever

Posted by Unknown on 12th Oct 2017

I am pretty active, as I am constantly in the water (ocean or pool) swimming or surfing, or doing yoga. I I used to get really bad knots in my hair from constantly being in the water, so I was initially concerned that this shampoo would not provide the conditioning I needed. I need not be concerned. This is the best shampoo ever. In fact, after a couple days of using it, when I came out of the ocean, I did not even need to wash or condition my hair - there were no knots. A brush went straight through it. My hair feels better and looks better. I have fine, highlighted hair, and this shampoo works great. I do not use any type of conditioner now, I just use the shampoo and the vinegar rinse. I think the bottles are small and a bit expensive, but I won't go back to any other shampoo, even the other "natural" ones that I have tried that this shampoo easily surpassed.

    Love it!

I've used natural shampoos for years so I really did not have a detox period. But I love this one and that my scalp does not itch after using. It's a keeper.

    Peppermint and Tea Tree Shampoo

Posted by Unknown on 5th Jun 2017

I have been using Bubble and Bee shampoo for 6 months now. I started with the Lemon then thought I would try the Peppermint and Tea Tree. I love it them both. I find that I shed less compared to using shampoo from the store filled with all those chemicals. My hair is soft and shinny. I would recommend it to anyone.

    psoriasis controlled

Posted by Julie on 31st Mar 2017

I have psoriasis on my head. It is a massive pain. I got tired of paying the cost of meds so I went in search of an alternative for controlling it. Nothing on the store shelves seemed to help so I went to looking into organic products with out all the extra chemicals. I did a search for tea tree oil shampoos and found Bubble and Bee products. This has been the best decision I could make. I also use this as body wash. By time I found this, the psoriasis had popped up on other parts of my body. The information pamphlet that came with it said the shampoo was basically a soap and could be used as that so I do. Though the stuff on my head never goes completely away, the breakouts on other areas has completely cleared up since using this as a head to toe thing. [Edit: Bubble & Bee makes no claims that our products will cure, treat, or prevent any medical conditions.]

    Love the results

Posted by Jeannine Johnson on 11th Feb 2017

This has been the best all natural shampoo I think i've tried. I love the smell, it's not too strong and the shampoo rinsed out perfect. I did the vinegar rinse afterwards and it's so true, how you can comb your hair wet without it snagging.(i have long hair that I color) or creating knots. I ordered both this and the lemon to see which I like better. haven't tried the lemon, but I have a feeling I'll be buying both to switch around. I really, truly am impressed!. Now, can you sell them by the case or offer a discount when you buy a certain amt at a time? Or in the future, offer a larger size bottle so a family of 4 can get more for their money?

    I love this shampoo!

Posted by Katia on 25th Sep 2016

I just started using this shampoo. I wanted to try something different because my hair kept falling out. I thought it was because of aging or genetics, but so far, I am seeing an improvement in my hair loss. I don't want to say what I was using before, but it was a an expensive and well-known hair salon brand. I never thought that it was the shampoo and conditioner I had been using! I love the ingredients in this shampoo. It lathers pretty well also. I feel good about using it. I tried the vinegar rinse but I didn't like the way my hair smelled. So afterwards I use some oil on my hair to give it shine and manageability.

I have my real hair back!

Posted by Patti on 31st Jul 2016

This was an unusual process but works, and I love the way my hair reacts. The vinegar works great to soften and condition my hair but has not left an odor. So glad to be using all organic and natural.
