Description: Our shampoo is different because it contains no synthetic detergents; just gentle natural soap. Our great-grandmothers used simple soaps like these before the advent of synthetic shampoos. They had hair that was clean, shiny and healthy--without all the nasty chemicals. Your order comes with one 8 oz bottle of Peppermint & Tea Tree Shampoo, one 16 oz rinsing bottle (unless otherwise indicated), full instructions and information.
Where's the conditioner? Our products are a little bit different to use; it may take some getting used to. Instead of using a detergent shampoo (that strips your hair) and conditioner (that covers up the damage the shampoo did) we use a natural soap to clean and vinegar to balance hair's pH. The cleansing is so gentle you don't need conditioner, and the vinegar makes your hair exceptionally strong. Conventional shampoos and conditioners contain synthetic proteins and plasticizers that coat the hair. They have to do this to cover up the damage that the harsh detergents in the shampoo do to your hair. Our shampoo doesn't strip the hair of its oils, only removes the excess. You'll actually go through a hair "detox" period, where the synthetic proteins will be removed and you'll be able to feel your hair for the first time without these synthetic coatings. It will become naturally soft and smooth, and, as new hair grows in, it won't suffer the damage of the conventional shampoos. Over time, your hair's appearance will grow shinier and be stronger.
The Organic Peppermint & Tea Tree Shampoo contains sweet almond oil, macadamia nut oil, and jojoba oil for added conditioning. Jojoba oil is very similar in structure to our hairs' own natural oils, so it's a great conditioning agent. Sweet almond oil has long been used on hair and skin, and helps to strengthen skin and clarify scalp. And we've added sweet-smelling macadamia nut oil for added conditioning and softness. Peppermint and spearmint essential oils stimulate scalp and tea tree essential oil has been used historically to help itchy, dry, and oily scalp, fighting dandruff-causing fungus and promoting the healthy balance of scalp. We recommend this shampoo for normal to dry hair, even though, technically, there is no such thing as dry hair. Want to know why? Directions: Place a quarter-sized dollop of shampoo into your palm and lather into hair. If you have thick or long hair, you may want to make a horizontal part on the back of your head and apply an extra dollop of shampoo to ensure you clean your entire scalp. Lather up and rinse as usual.
Vinegar rinse instructions: Fill the provided rinse bottle to the line with vinegar (white or apple cider vinegar work great), and fill to the top with water. Pour entire contents of the bottle onto your hair. Repeat the rinse until you can run your fingers through all your hair. (A detailed information sheet will be included with your order.)
Note: This shampoo is not for everyone. It is soap-based, not detergent based, so it has the potential to form soap scum. There are many factors that come in to play with soap scum formation, including water hardness, type of hardness, and texture of hair. If your hair comes out feeling greasy with this shampoo after the detox period, it's because you're experiencing soap scum. You can work around it by mixing in baking soda with the shampoo. As much as we want to sell you shampoo, we think you should know this ahead of time, as this product is non-returnable once opened. If it doesn't work out for you as a shampoo, however, it can be used as a body or hand soap.

Shampoo
It’s been two weeks and I have soft water and I’ve been using the vinegar rinse and my hair just comes out oily. I’m disappointed about this because I really wanted this shampoo to work for me. Peppermint & Tea tree
I tried this shampoo. It was quite a different application process. Where I live the water is extremely hard so I added the baking soda to the shampoo. I rinsed 2x with the vinegar/water mixture. My hair was extremely soft, fluffy. Simply felt great. The only thing I noticed was my hair looked stringy. I realized this was possibly the detoxification of old deposits on my hair.

Jury's Still Out...
I wanted to try a natural shampoo, and since I really enjoy the deodorants from here and they explained how this natural shampoo could be good for getting your hair healthier, I wanted to give it a try. Honestly, the jury is still out- my hubby HATES the smell of vinegar, so I am using lemon juice instead and it doesn't work nearly as well as the vinegar rinse did. But alas, sometimes you have to compromise... My hair does feel softer and my scalp isn't as itchy, so I want to keep trying it. Just note- it takes some getting used to to figure out how to make it work best for you. I'm still in the middle of figuring it out, but I'm happy thus far. :)

Great shampoo finally
I have been searching high and low and bought a lot of gnarly shampoos looking for something that doesn't make my scalp itch or cause a rash or a myriad of other problems. A chronic health condition has left me looking for more natural alternatives and using apple cider vinegar alone just wasn't doing it and rinsing with coconut milk was too much cost and left my hair really weird. So far this shampoo has been a miracle for me.

Never going back to conventional shampoo
I've been using this shampoo for years. My hair is always so soft and shiny. I have hard water, so I do have to mix a little baking soda with it so it cleans my hair well. However, I wouldn't trade this shampoo for anything else in the world. B&B products are the highest quality I have ever found.

Best Shampoo Ever!
By far this is the BEST shampoo I've ever used! If you use this shampoo correctly with the vinegar rinse you will never want to use anything else. My hair has never been so soft and healthy! This is the only shampoo I purchase for my hair. As an African American woman I went natural and I have locs. I love that I can pronounce each ingredient with ease, love how this shampoo lathers and rinses cleanly. Due to the length and thickness of my hair I'm unable to just do a dollip, so I go through a bottle more quickly. This shampoo is healthy for my hair and my hair loves it along with the vinegar rinse. I strongly recommend this shampoo.

Great hair soap
This hair soap leaves my hair feeling like it's natural self. Conventional shampoos make it feel too slick, and I have never used on of those shampoos without conditioners. With Tea Tree and Peppermint all I need to do is wash, no conditioner or anything needed

I have waited over 1 year to pen this review, because my review is for both the shampoo and the company. First, this is the best shampoo you will find. I have used similar shampoo from many parts of the world over the last 20 years and nothing comes close. I have ordered many times, and it is always the same consistent excellent product . Love that I don't need a PHD in chemistry to understand the ingredients. Let me tell you about the company: This is the most organized, well run operation I do business with.
